In today’s day and age, product placement and sales is all about how effective your online marketing is. The biggest weapon when it comes to online marketing: an attractive yet informative website. But having a website alone isn’t enough. One has to know how to invite a large audience to it. Here are five ways to do it.
Have a catchy name and tagline
A catchy name is retained in the memory of the customer; so is a good tagline. It does what numerous commercials cannot – free advertising. For example, Nike : “Just do it” L’Oréal Paris: “Because you’re worth it” Catchy, aren’t they? These make for great advertising, as well as the definition of said company or brand.
Have a constant social media presence
Social media gives a platform to reach out to the target clientele. Through social media, the blog or the website can be put on platform which feels more relatable to the clientele. Making your website and name known through social media allows for an easier way to get the message across. A good example for this would be Fridays For Future India, an NGO
working for the betterment of the environment. They provide a link in their Instagram page description, allowing users to go to the website. This helps spread their cause in a more effective manner.
Advertising through social media influencers is booming these days. We often see celebrities endorsing a certain product. Virat Kohli, captain of the Indian cricket team, has been seen endorsing Wrogn(a clothing brand) on his social media platforms. This helps bring in a bigger audience, i.e., fans of the celebrities or influencers.
Featuring on guest blogs/websites
After a crossover episode in your favourite T.V series, have you looked up the other T.V show as well? In a similar way, getting your website/blog featured on a more popular one allows for more customers to be exposed to yours. Blogger friends have often been known to give shout outs to one another their own blogs. Shout outs are very helpful and cost effective mode of gaining a bigger audience for your website.
Advertising through podcasts
With more podcast platforms being introduced in India like Spotify and Audible, it brings in a whole new medium of advertising. Much like social media, it allows to reach out the target clientele. A brilliant example of this would be Squarespace(a website builder) advertising through Accidental Tech Podcast. They even offer a 10 per cent discount to the podcast listeners. They throw the offer five seconds into the ad, ensuring that the listeners don’t skip through it. A simple, yet brilliant way of luring in a larger audience.
Host giveaways
Giveaways are a very effective tool to reach out to a larger demographic in a short span of time. The prospect of a prize attracts a large group of people at once. Your customers advertise your product for you, proving to be a cost effective method of advertising. A good example of this would be Bloomsbury India’s Mother’s Day giveaway. They offered a book very relevant to the day’s celebration. To win the giveaway, people would have to follow them on social media and tag their friends as well. This is a promising way to display links to their website to a larger group of readers.
