Tough Times or Thinking Times

Over the past few days, I have been receiving panic messages from many of my Business owner friends; certainly, the business has been hit due to the lockdown and Corona spread across the globe.

There is fear lurking over their heads. The fear that the 2008 depression will recur.

Can you avoid if an economic depression were to occur? Can you change the current situation?

NO.

But what you can do is BE PREPARED!

How can I be Prepared? What should I be prepared about?

Suddenly, when businesses went online and clients demanded online calls over personal meetings, profiles to be sent on Whatsapp or over email, were you perturbed?

Let me run you through a small checklist and help you evaluate your current position.

If you already have the collateral/ preparation, give each line-item – 1 point.

1.Online Collaterals

  1. E-brochure- Content and Designing that appeals to your target audience-
  2. Website link-
  1. Does your website have the right content that talks about your company?-
  2. Does your website have all your product/service details?-
  3. Does your website sell?-
  4. Do you have a CTA on your website?-
  5. What is the bounce rate on your website? –
  6. Do you have blogs on your website? –

Once you have evaluated and answered the above, here are your results:

15 to 14 Points- You are SORTED! You are doing a great job already!

10 to 14 – You are GOOD, but definitely can do much better. Remain focussed and you will be great!

5 to 10- AMBER ALERT:  You need to connect with an expert Content team to get your collaterals ready and see the magic!

For people who have scored 15-14– here are the other things that you can possibly think of doing.

You need to intricately evaluate the below:

  1. Monitoring your Internal and External Sales process.
  2. Tracking the project lifecycle for each project.
  3. How prepared are you to move online and then offline?
  4. Re-Connecting with your old clients, via calls, video calls and emails.
  5. Connecting with your Contact sphere and schedule meetings with them to explore collaboration opportunities.
  6. Build a pipeline, NOW
  7. Upskill yourself, your team and your organization through relevant training. There are varied online training and webinars being conducted online.
  8. Get ready for the changing economic tides by planning your finances ahead.
  9. Take the help of a financial or a stock market advisor to help you plan better.
  10.  Respond to your vendor who has sent you a proposal for approval. Remember, if you are a client to someone, you are a vendor to someone else too. Also, that vendor may bring your next big business. As much as it is hard on you, make your vendor payments.
  11. Remember– What goes around comes around!

In all, it’s important to remain focussed and stop getting perturbed with the possible/ uncertain changes. You are not alone in this! Whatever is happening to people across the globe is what is happening to you. You can now plan to recoup and get better at the current situation!

After dusk, there will be dawn. The spokes of the wheel will change in due course. Anyway, pessimism doesn’t work, try Optimism instead!

May the planned and prepared win!
